“về Huế” is a multi-platform, participatory project, undertaken by a group of Vietnamese and foreign independent artists, architects, researchers, and scholars. The project, through showcasing the fading local architecture of Hue City and the surrounding villages (those that are situated outside of the UNESCO designated Imperial City), seeks to establish Hue’s cultural continuity through preserving cultural material, especially architecture. “về Huế” also aims at opening up further conversations regarding architectural heritage preservation, a topic with overdue attention in the country. After all, architecture is the strongest social current that records the historical evolution of a place.
